The core positioning of the EXTREME NETWORKS SUMMITSTACK-V8 controller module is stack management, designed specifically for the Extreme Summit series switches, which can achieve cluster control of multiple switches and integrate dispersed devices into a single logical unit.
Supporting high bandwidth stacked connections, it is speculated that it can provide 10 gigabit stacked links (such as 10GbE or higher) to ensure efficient and smooth data transmission between switches within the stacked cluster, avoiding stacked links becoming performance bottlenecks.
As an original factory specific stacking controller, it is deeply adapted to the ExtremeXOS operating system and can automatically recognize and enable stacking functions after inserting compatible switches, without the need for complex cross system debugging and simplifying deployment processes.
Having flexible stacking scale support capability, it is highly likely to manage 8 or more switches of the same series to form a stacking cluster, meeting the centralized management needs of large-scale equipment in medium and large enterprise park networks, data center aggregation layers, and other areas.
