This series has been developed by General Electric for more than 40 years, and the earliest developed product is MKI.

IS200VPROH2B is used as an emergency turbine protection plate. IS200VPROH2B, together with TPRO and TREG boards, is an independent overspeed protection system for the Mark VI system. It includes three VPRO boards (triple redundancy) that control the trip solenoid valve through TREG boards in modules independent of the turbine control system. IS200VPROH2B has nine thermocouple inputs for exhaust overheating protection, as well as three analog current inputs and backup synchronous check protection.

IS200VPROH2B has two backplane connectors. The board also has two long and narrow female plugs, located near and parallel to the front panel. There is a vertical pin (male) ribbon connector at the rear edge. The front panel also includes many connectors, such as a single DIN connector and multiple multi pin D-type cable connectors. There is also a single female power plug and multiple LED indicator lights on the front panel. This board has an onboard power supply. This power supply generates 5 V DC and 28 V DC, and is powered by the cabinet PDM. The connectors and indicator lights on the front panel are labeled.
